[SLE] unable to ftp from mc

I know that your are supposed to be able to ftp from the command line
in mc, midnight commander v 4.5.55, and I have in the past in other
distro's. I am now in SuSE 8.1 and have not been able to ftp in mc.
/#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub

I can from the cl as:> mc /#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub.

Am I missing something or is it broken or do I have an env var set
wrong? I have no problem with other ftp clients.

Make sure you have your email adress setup to send as anonymous
password under Options, Virtual FS

then start the ftp dialog in mc, under Left-> Ftp Link
enter the machine name as shown below
ftp.mozilla.org

It works for me.

I used it the other day at home (not inet), but I had to enter the
user:pass at the prompt from the menu (F1 for syntax). I don't know if it
assumes "anonymous" or the local user.
