With the upgrade pidgin is pinning my cpu now and not showing on the
screen. I moved the old ./.purple directory to ./.purple.bak and
started it up againm and it worked fine. But I lost all my logs and
even some of the accounts i had. I forgot their names and passwords :)
to recover logs, etc.:

mv ~/.purple.bak ~/.purple
Why is it racing?
